7-Bullet Sunday

Just gonna share a few of my favorite things this week. Hope you get to enjoy some of them too. 😄

What I'm Listening To:

  • Mellow '90s Gold Playlist on Amazon Music: This playlist checks all the boxes. Kid-friendly, nostalgic, and familiar with just enough words of each song to make it enjoyable, but not distracting. Covers everyone from the Cranberries and Aerosmith to Whitney Houston and TLC. 🎶 And I don't wanna miss a thinggg.

What I'm Watching:

  • The Survivors: Dia and I just finished this six-episode Australian murder mystery on Netflix. Terrible CGI during the opening sequence, but a solid story overall.
  • Your Friends & Neighbors: Jon Hamm (Mad Men) plays a hedge fund manager who resorts to burglary after losing his job, targeting wealthy neighbors to maintain his family's lifestyle. This was a fun watch. I liked the twist at the end.

What I'm Reading:

  • The 5 Types of Wealth: A Transformative Guide to Design Your Dream Life: This book is about how to achieve lasting happiness by rejecting the default path and defining your priorities around five types of wealth: Time Wealth, Social Wealth, Mental Wealth, Physical Wealth, and Financial Wealth.
    • Favorite Highlight: Your wealthy life may be enabled by money, but in the end, it will be defined by everything else.
  • Five Decembers: Historical Fiction Crime Thriller that takes place in Hawaii during 1940s, spanning WWII. I heard someone mention it on a podcast and then saw someone else tweet about it later that same day. It was $1.99 on Kindle so I chalked it up as a low-cost, potentially high-reward investment of time. I'm only 15% complete so far, but can see myself finishing it to find out who dunnit.

What I'm Thankful For:

  • Life Line Screening: I asked my Primary Doctor if I could get a coronary calcium scan, also known as a calcium score test. He sort of brushed me off. Then I saw an ad for Life Line Screening 20 minutes later and booked instantly. Everything came back normal except my hsCRP. Will be digging into this further.

Interview I Enjoyed:

  • Am I a Bad Dad? with Dr. Becky. Comedian Hasan Minhaj sits down with Dr. Becky Kennedy (Good Inside) to discuss "Sturdy" parenting, if hitting your kids is OK, and so much more. LOL'd multiple times during this 30-minute interview.
