Livin' La Vida Luna y Luca

In our happy place for my mom's birthday + our 11th wedding anniversary.
6-Bullet Sunday
But before we get to that, I forgot to share my step count update in last week's September '26 Recap.

There's been a nagging pain in my right calf ever since I injured it a few months ago. I finally went to see my PT last week, and he's pretty much convinced my 4M step count goal for 2026 is doing more harm than good at this point.
He asked me to consider reducing the daily goal to see if it makes a difference. I agreed, but only because I'm so far ahead. 😅
Now for the Q3 sauce.
What I Watched w/ Rating System: Gas or Trash
- Ted Lasso S4 on Apple TV - 🗑️
- Reacher S4 on Prime - 🗑️
- Furious on Disney+ - ⛽️
- The Gentlemen S2 on Netflix - ⛽️
- Wolf of Winter (Novak Djokovic) on Prime - ⛽️
- Rafa 4 Part Doc Series on Netflix - ⛽️
What I Read (All ⛽️)
- Risk Game by Francis Greenburger - Will likely do an entire post on this book in the coming weeks. Highly recommend for any entrepreneurs reading this.
- Siddhartha by Herman Hesse - Randomly decided to reread this wonderful book about self-discovery. *Insert NO RAGRETS meme*
- A Guide to The Good Life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy by William Irvine - Flipped through my highlights in this book about Stoic Principles. It's a practical manual to overcoming dissatisfaction and embracing more joy. Something I'm kind of having trouble with right now.
- Powerhouse: Untold Story of Hollwood's Creative Artists Agency (CAA) by James Miller - This one's in the weeds. If you're intrigued by Michael Ovitz (Not-So-Secret King of Hollywood for 2+ decades), it's a must read.
What I listened to:
- Childish Gambino: EP & Camp Albums - I don't know how or why I decided to listen to these 2 albums from my college days, but I'm so happy I did. College feels like a lifetime ago, but some music can bring me right back to Happy Valley.
- Choosin' Texas by Ella Langley - Dia and Luca have been suffering through Luna and me singing this song in our silly Southern accents every morning on the way to school. 🎶She's from Texas, I can telllll byyyyyy the way! He's 2-steppin' round the room...🎶
Best Recent Purchases:
- Keypad Door Lock - Luca locked the garage door from the inside before leaving for school a few weeks ago. We couldn't get back into the house & locksmiths were a 4-hour wait, so I just busted the door handle. We just replaced it with this keypad lock. Solid & 4-year-old proof.
- Project Cloud Clogs - These are my new indoor shoes. Love 'em.
Quote That Hit:
- "I train like I've never won, and I compete like I've never lost" - 3x Olympic Gold Medalist Eileen Gu
- Short worth watching: Reporter asks Eileen Gu if she thinks before she speaks.
What I'm Most Looking Forward to:
- Tonal - We're getting a Tonal installed in our basement this week and I'm looking forward to seeing if I can be as consistent with my workout routine if it's at home instead of in the gym. That might not make sense to some, but I identify less as someone who works out and more as someone who goes to the gym. Subtle difference, but hopefully easily interchangeable.
✌️&❤️
P.S. Just realized last week (SSS: #364) marked 7 years of this newsletter without ever missing a week. Dang. Dat shi cray.
