I'm an AI n00b.
Up until this past week, I used AI for a handful of things:
- Search Replacement: I find myself asking Grok the questions I used to search in Google
- Doc Review: I have to look at a bunch of "very important" & lengthy paperwork. Letting AI do the first pass is super helpful.
- Sparring Partner: When I have to choose between multiple paths, I often find clarity by doing a mini-therapy session with an AI chat

Enter Claude:
In the last couple days I was able to complete the following with Claude Code, Cowork, & Chat:
- Built a one-page HTML website for my investment company
- It took ~10 seconds to build something I couldn't build in 10 years
- Created a brand new underwriting model (.xlsx) that is more robust than my last one, yet somehow easier to use
- It also built a companion web-app version in case I don't have access to my .xlsx & need to underwrite something in a pinch
- Created a Homeowner's Guide to Selling Direct.pdf
- Potential sellers always ask me for a business card or pamphlet, and I always shrug it off with the equivalent of "no one really does that anymore"
- HUGE mistake, as I mostly buy from senior citizens who are used to doing business a certain way. I need to do a better job meeting them where they are
- I can't wait to share what Claude built for me
- Created an MVP for a lead-gen tool that I'll be testing with actual users sometime next week
This is just the tip of the iceberg, as I plan to spend much of Q2 building tools, skills, and workflows that improve my presence, productivity, and processing speed with the help of Claude.
Also, I'm more than willing to admit that none of the things I built in the past week are earth-shattering. They have, however, been on my to-do list for months, if not years.
And the outputs aren't perfect by any means. But Claude did all of the heavy lifting.
All I have to do is refine, provide edits, and tie a bow on it. And as a self-diagnosed micro-manager... that's my favorite part π βΊοΈ
