About

Hey, I’m Sunny

According to the Myers-Briggs Test, I’m an INTJ, which sounds about right.

I’m not a perfectionist, but I’m hardly ever satisfied. I believe in building systems, not goals. I don’t have the highest EQ, but the thing I value most in this world is a strong & loyal relationship.

I’m a husband first. My wife, Dia, is my BiFF and my in-laws are amazing. With the help of science, we were lucky enough to make the perfect tiny human. Our daughter, Luna, is our entire world.

If I could be remembered for only one thing, it would be I’m an optimist. My default setting is, “everything’s going to be alright”. Even when it seems like the world is burning down around me.

I’m super into a few things:

  1. Making lists
  2. Taking Personality Tests (Myers-Briggs, DiSC)
  3. Real Estate (Private Money Lending, Syndications, BRRRR)
  4. Personal Finance (IWT, MMM, Financial Samurai)
  5. Self Development (Tim Ferriss, Gary Vaynerchuk, Brian Tracey)
  6. Health & Fitness (CrossFit & Flexible Dieting)
  7. Woo-Woo stuff like Meditation & Philosophy (Ryan Holiday)
  8. Helping People Achieve Their Goals (But only if they ask)

My preferred method of learning is taking action. But before I dive in, I apply the ‘JIT’  (Just in Time) supply chain method to my education. A sprint style study of all things relative ensues.

I just recently realized the power of paying experts for information to fill the gaps in my knowledge on important subjects like investing, child-rearing, and building better relationships.

Why Blog?

This blog is an online notebook and creative outlet for me.

I don’t take great pictures, nor am I super comfortable in front of a camera. As you can see from this About Page, I’m not particularly succinct either. I rely on long form text to get my message across.

I take these notes and document my journey so I can better retain the knowledge acquired over time.

Legacy: I’m secretly doing this so my bloodline can get a detailed look into what made me tick.

3 out of my 4 grandparents passed away before I was born. My grandmother (Hi Ba!) played a major role in raising me, but I don’t know ANYTHING about her life story.

My parents immigrated to the US from India in 1983, and, boy, do they play the immigrant role well. Getting them to talk about their life back in India is like pulling teeth.

If I end up kicking the bucket unexpectedly early, I want there to be something more than a photo album to remember me by.

Why Now?

I vehemently regret not starting this blog earlier in life. My 20’s were a personal and financial roller coaster. Documenting the highs of starting new businesses or getting married and lows of abandoned friendships or failed business ventures would have provided great context for the man I am today. They say it takes 10 years to become an overnight success. I feel like I’m at a tipping point, which is why I decided to start documenting now.If you want to take a peek at my experience with the little things, follow me on Insta. If you want go deep sea diving with me on this journey of trying to become a better person, enter your email below.
